'More autonomy and control': SRD director petitioning municipal status for Cortes Island

The petition asks the "Province of BC to work with the Cortes Island community and First Nations to explore our local governance, which may lead to a referendum vote on whether we should incorporate."
"I'd like to see 200 signatures," he says.
He's at more than 100 signatures so far.
